Samah Fawzi

Samah Fawzi

Samah Fawzi is an African writer, host, and project
manager from Sudan. Her work centers around the
intersections of art, media, and culture in the realms of international relations and national policies. She strives to capture the complex nature of these relations and interpret it into forms of artistic creations, such as poetry, podcasts, and transmedia projects.


Ultimately, she wishes for her work to assist people in
better comprehending the world around them and
making informed decisions and actions.

Wanjiku Ngugi

Wanjiku Ngugi

Wanjiku Ngugi is a human rights lawyer and researcher interested in gender and womens’ rights issues. She is currently working as a programs associate in the field of health-related human rights, focusing on health and governance, HIV/TB, and key populations. She has also been involved in research on civic engagement, democracy, peace and security with Nonviolent Peaceforce, South Sudan.
At Ufahamu Africa, Wanjiku will support the curation,
creation, and dissemination of podcasts around
gender, womens’ rights issues, their nexus to the arts, and how these subjects relate to life and politics in Africa.

Chido Nyaruwata

Chido Nyaruwata

Chido Nyaruwata is a passionate Afro-feminist
researcher, digital storyteller, and consultant whose
research interests include water and health rights,
urban governance, climate action, sexual and
reproductive health and rights, and feminist movement-building. Chido’s medium website and film-making are her main avenues for creating and sharing knowledge.


She works as a part-time research assistant for the
African Gender Institute based at the University of
Cape Town, where she graduated with a master’s in
international relations in 2020. Her climate action and
women’s rights advocacy work are expressed through volunteerism. She volunteers as a
communication officer for the African Youth Initiative on Climate Change Zimbabwe Chapter
and as a Youth Caucus Steering Committee Member for the African Women’s Leaders Network
Zimbabwe Chapter.
